I tried to get a picture of this boy with the violin, but his dog would not leave him, or leave me alone, growling if I got too close. Loyal friends to the bone. This photo was taken in Urubicha, a rural village in the Guarayos region of Eastern Bolivia that is known for its classical boroque musical concerts. More boys in this community play violin and cello than play soccer.

I love the mood of this picture and how it captures innocent an boyhood in many ways. This trusting lad seems to have a bit of self-pride as well as a good friend.

He'll maybe never know that others in many countries around the world are sneaking a peak into his life. The colors and composition are light-hearted, yet his eyes seem have a bit of "seriousness" about music or having his photo taken. I wonder, did he break out laughing after the photo was taken?

Your use of color is superb. Can't get over your work.

If you'd reduce the saturation on the face and arm, this shot would definitely be a favorite in my folder. Great composition, and the saturation is very nice, but for those abovementioned parts. Thanks.

Great shot, fascinating note.

I still love this shot and think that it should have done much much better. This shot is not about technical perfection and gigapixel cameras. It's about a moment. I think you know that better. I can see what you have captured here and I would not suggest anything different.

Like the feeling of the photo. Perfect fit for this challenge, plus, I like the fact that it not your typical boy and dog shot. Very nice.

Love the colour and composition. Not too much "best friends" necessarily coming out if it, but a great photo.

It's too bad you couldn't get the dog interacting a bit more with the kid, but I understand how tricky this must have been to choregraph. I love your background. The culture jumps out of the photo. Nicely done. 8

Good idea; good colors; maybe the saturation is a little bit too high but a nice shot; congratulations

Wonderful vibrant colors. Great pose, I love the lines and the framing. I wish the boy was just a little sharper. 8

Very nice and candid moment. But I think the colors are a bit oversaturated and the image is oversharpened or so - what I'm trying to say is it isnt clear, in terms of image quality.

Seems a little oversaturated, especially on the reds. Crouching down and shooting up may have given it a little more bond between the two and also the slightly different angle could possibly add some interest. Additionally it may have helped remove the white band on the top of his head, which stands out a little too much.
