There are some nice things about this photo... the light squiggles are quite artistic. I'm not sure the exposure is as intended though, there's a tantalising lack of shadow detail but enough to make us want to see more of it. Is it relevant that the subject looks like they're in a wheelchair? Is it relevant that we can see what looks like a bed? Is this person connected from their isolated lives in their bedroom by the power of the internet and a webcam? Does the light represent communication and inspiration?

A little different... high contrast, saturation and grain. The immediate effect of this combination is that we have an 'arty' photo on our hands.
Like many arty photos, it's hard to work out what is going on here. What is that round thing? Is it soft inside? Is the lid soft or spiky?
The composition feels a little unbalanced... no rule of thirds here.
It is standard practice to fill in the Photographer's Comments field if you want a comment from the Critique Club, so I'm not sure there's really a lot more I can say. Too enigmatic for DPC. |

ROCK ONby StangComment: Looks like an interesting gig, can't be that good musically or they wouldn't need caged dancers, LOL. What lets this photo down for me is that you haven't caught this at the end or beginning of a song with all the hands in the air, so it's unclear what the point of focus is. I feel that I want to focus on the performers but they're too far away. The singer is staring to his left, which leads the viewer's eye straight out of the shot. |
