voraciousby amsmythComment: Nice macro, I think you could have sharpened this picture a bit though. The composition is a bit messy, there's too much going on that distracts from the subject. The lighting doesn't seem quite right... there's too much glare on the side of the grasshopper. Well done for getting that close though! 8 |

Chlorophyllby mannenComment: Great picture, for once I like the effect of that flare filter that gives the sun six strands. Presumably you used fill-in flash for the leaves... I think it was a little on the harsh side. There's quite a lot of noise in the background, especially in the top-left. Nice composition. 8 |

Wheelbarrowby EddyGComment: Wonderful lighting, I suspect you caught this at sunset. Some beautiful colours captured here. Not quite sure about the composition... it seems a bit wishy-washy to me. The colour of the wheelbarrow contrasts nicely with the foliage. 8 |

divaby mariowagnerComment: She doesn't look very diva-like... more a little afraid of speaking her mind. Nice shot though, black and white is very effective here. The background complements the subject well. 8 |

Spider & the Flyby pottersclay75Comment: Great colours, good composition. Shame the picture is so small... next time, try to get the longest side at least 600 pixels long. Could have done with a tad more sharpening. 8 |

Mystic Underwater Gardenby ndsComment: Beautiful... I love the shafts of light. I wonder if this is a conventional landscape which has had curves and colour adjustments, or a shot taken from the side of a fish tank? Very effective. 8 |

Silent Invaderby thelselComment: Very simple composition that works well, beautiful colours. The background seems a little noisy/ pixellated... does it need NeatImage, or was it caused by NeatImage? Not quite sure about the lighting on the caterpillar... having looked at the other entries, it would seem these are tricky things to light! It's the shadow here that detracts for me... perhaps some way of diffusing the light on the subject would have been helpful. The water drops are a nice touch 8 |

Gatekeeper in my Gardenby pinbackComment: Lovely capture, nice combination of colours. Your background is very effective. Excellent detail in the butterfly/ moth, I particularly like the eye. Great textures. 8 |

garden tapby GinaRothfelsComment: Perhaps a bit oversharpened for some people's taste, but I like the interesting effect that has been produced here. I think it could have benefited from some gamma adjustment however... and I feel that the highlights are a bit burnt out. I like the composition. 8 |
