Yellow Oneby channeledComment: Critique Club:
An interesting flower macro... I very much like the effect your shallow DOF has produced in the background, the blurred greens are a very effective compositional device.
There are a few things that could be improved here IMO though:
For me, the focal point of this picture is the top of the flower, which is way to close to the top of the frame. I would have considered rule of thirds for this element.
There's a little too much glare on the left of the flower... perhaps you could have positioned something between the sun and the flower that would have reduced this.
The colours are a bit dull... the photo is crying out to have some colour adjustments in Photoshop to make the greens and yellows more vibrant. |

Water drops on foliage are a good way of making flower shots come to life and add a sense of vibrancy and texture.
There are a few things that could be improved to make this shot really good...
More sharpness is needed. Nothing is really in focus here.
The hue and saturation seem a bit dull... I'm sure a bit of tweaking in Photo software such as Photoshop could have made your greens much more vibrant.
I'm not sure your crop has placed the plant bang in the middle of the frame. |

Alhambra Palaceby BobsterLobsterComment: This photo was actually very sharp throughout the shot, until I put on a soft-focus blur effect... guess I was a bit too clumsy with it! |

Welcome To Greektownby frychiknComment: Sorry you felt my comment was not worthy or useful enough to tick... even though it says exactly the same as the first comment. Maybe this is the wrong place for you, if you're not ready to take on board constructive criticism. You already seem to think that your photos are great, why bother trying to improve? For what it's worth, I gave you a 4. |

Treeby redmoonComment: Interesting shot, spoilt by the odd uneven border which is only at the top and bottom. Tree could do with more sharpness, although some of it is affected by too much! The job of blurring your background is a little clumsy in places, it would be much nicer to have seen this achieved with dof, although presumably you don't have the kit available for this. |

Drummers Eyesby pitsamanComment: WOW... fabulous shot! Shame about the burnt out highlights, as this is one of the most effective musician portraits I've ever seen. |

Just Me, Myself and Skyby ImagineerComment: Lovely, but a tad overexposed. I'd love to have seen more sky detail. The overal gamma seems very high. Not sure a square crop is the best choice here, a portrait oriented shot with loads of sky would have been the most effective, like some of Remie's shots. |

Oh, hello! by JeanComment: Great shot, oversharpened though. File seems too compressed as well... this is only 54kb, you could have got a file size almost 3 times larger. |
