Not sure I totally agree. I don't need to upgrade my bike to be compatible with the newer roads. Celeste (my road bike, if you didn't know that by now) is 11 years old and I consider her fairly new, with Campy ergo shifters, not downtubes. Does look somewhat old school I suppose, with steel frame tubes and topped with a leather Brooks saddle.

I get a kick out of the fact that one of your lowest scores is one that I would usually be happy with! I didn't vote 100% on this challenge, so I don't know what I would have given this, but I like the way you experiment. Very creative.

Old? It's only about 9 years old. But I won't tell her you said that! I had some trouble getting it shifting right and had offered her my Trek 900 mountain bike instead. She didn't want the Trek because it "looks like an 80's bike". I said "well is IS an 80's bike". She's still at the stage in her life where style is more important than function. I did finally get the Gary Fisher working right, however.
