Deb, since there is no freewheel, the pedals never stop turning while the bike is moving. To stop/slow, you apply backwards pressure on the pedals. |
Ah - "fixies" rather than single speeds? Not something I'd want to ride down a steep hill. Or up one. Or at all, really. I'm way too uncoordinated! Thanks for the info! |

Yes, it's a Masi. It's really not a track bike, but a fixie he converted. I see a new frame in his future. |
