I think the blown out highlights actually work on this. It's a scene that fits "everyday", though I don't see it fitting the "Wabi-Sabi" idea.

Very neat looking. I would suggest some adjustments of curves to really make this pop. I gave it a 6, but would have given it a 7 or maybe an 8 if it had a little more pop in it.

I'm not getting the "unfortunately" part. Maybe that is a comment on smoking? Good detail showing, but I don't connect the title.
