Swanby hajekaComment: Gorgeous bird. I think it could have used a little more saturation or contrast to do it justice.
Also, your file size is a lot smaller than was allowed. You may have lost some clarity to JPEg compression. Check the JPEG compression settings in your image editor and always try to save as close to the limit for a challenge as you can get it without going over. |

Greylag Gooseby SteveJComment: Nice enough except for the schmutz on his beak. I think the comp may have worked a bit better with a bit more space on the right of the frame. |

Downtimeby robinssongComment: What great detail showing on this little guy! I'm not fond of the amount of empty space you left in the frame, but that's more of a preference on my part than a fault of your entry. |

plaster parrot under glassby undieyatchComment: I'm not fond of the reflection in the glass, it distracts from the subject of the bird. I do see some good effort to compose and crop the shot well. |

His Majistyby meowComment: Your file size is only 51k when you could have used up to 200k. This indicates a lot of JPEG compression, which is taking a lot of detail out of your photo. Check the JPEG compression settings in your image editor and always try to save as close to the limit for a challenge as you can get it without going over.
This shot also looks a bit overprocessed on the birds body. I can't tell for sure what may have caused this. |

Open Wideby BrianRComment: Lots of good detail here, and an interesting bird for sure. Not thrilling me, however. Maybe it's the near solid dark background, or the crop, but I'm not sure. |

Call Of The Wildby JeniYComment: A shoehorn to be sure, but heck, I almost entered a shot of a MIG-15, so I'll go easy on the DNMC.
I really like this. She's got a cute look on her face. I suppose the pursed lips are meant to look like a beak? Love the face paint as well. Also a fave for this. I want to be able to easily find this one again. |
