The Monicleby ClayaComment: My only nitpick is your spelling. It's monacle monocle. (Nuts, I even spelled it wrong myself! It's only correct because Firefox pointed out my spelling error!) Guess I can't fault you for it, after all! Nice old fashioned look to this. |

Tessaby tryingtostayinfocusComment: Seems like a snapshot I'm afraid. The depth of field is very shallow, and the narrow range of focus does not seem to be where it needs to be. The lighting from the side is also blowing out a lot of detail on her cheek, while the rest of her face is in shadows. I don't know what your shot settings were, but I am guessing that a narrower f-stop and maybe a different direction for the lighting could have helped. Hard to know for sure without knowing details, however. |

Through other people's eyesby kkzoliComment: I like the viewpoint you used. The image as a whole seems a little on the flat side, though. I popped this into my editor and found some quick adjustments of levels, curves and contrast really brought out some detail and "pop" in this. |

Hearts on Fireby bcenuComment: I see some grainy pixellation in the blue frames, and a mild lack of clarity. There may be a little extra JPEG compression taking away some detail. Your file size is only 82k and you could have used up to 200k for this challenge. Compression kills detail. Always use the least compression you can get away with and still come in under challenge limits. |

A moment of thought...by thekfactorComment: The strong sepia screams "antique", but that scream is in conflict with the modern plastic pen. Otherwise, it works well, but that conflict of subject and treatment jumped out at me. |
