A New Beginning by YomiComment: Wonderful shot. Great exposure, lighting, capture of the moment. Any couple would be happy to have this one, I think. Only one minor nit-pick, if the bouquet had been higher to hide both faces (like for privacy) or lower to show both faces, this shot would have been perfect. Still a 10, in my opinion. |

No Laundry Todayby FranziskaLangComment: I think cropping so that the clothes pins actually flowed out of the frame would have been nice as well. |

COMPOSITION
An excellent choice for the challenge, and you have portrayed it in an interesting fashion. The nose and the eye help to counter balance each other, but it leaves me feeling like it either needs a little more space at the top, or a little less at the bottom.
TECHNIQUE
The lighting on this is excellent. The details of the hair (and whiskers) is very well shown. I suspect many people saw the nose out of focus and didn't stop to notice that the rest of the face was very crisp and clear. The camera was focusing on the spot just above the white area. I know it probably wouldn't have been possible, but if you could have focused on the nose, then composed the shot (like a cat is going to give you that much time!), it may have been more effective, because dpc voters typically like the foreground in focus.
OVERALL EFFECT
I think this is a very good shot, and you have captured the essence of "cathood" -- getting up close and personal like cats seem to do. I think it is a very good shot, and the only thing I might try to change is the area of the main focus. Good work.

Future Ballerinasby SonifoComment: I love the nostalgia this picture depicts. Great framing. Was the little one at the end needing "to go?" hehe. |

Ascensionby jmsetzlerComment: Very graceful curves. I think cropping it at the landing so that the "curve" is not interrupted, and making it extend slightly right would have looked really nice to. |

End of the Lineby DavenitComment: Though I like the "story" the debris in front adds, I think it would have been effective to crop it out so that the tracks run into the corner. |
