I attribute this to artistic license, but it doesn't do anything for me, sorry. I think maybe if it was a little less red, and showed some contrast it might be a little better. Also, a touch more focus is needed, especially on the nose area.

Since I haven't seen any of the Matrix movies, I really can't comment if you picture fits or not. It seems to based on what I have heard and read about it though.

This is a great idea, and you have executed it well. The background gives it that futuristic/computer feeling, but the hand serves as a reminder of humanity. Someone had commented about the shadow across the hand. I think that it works well in the picture, because it really shows the suspended look.

I think a bit more light on the handle of the spoon would have made it a touch more effective. This would have given some details that are missing and may have made it seem more "in focus." A slightly larger dof may have helped that as well, though by having part of it blurry, the main part of the spoon is very much the focal point.

Good work -- a creative idea, executed well. Best to you in future challenges.

This is a great shot for this challenge. Though the insect is the focal point, the green and red are so predominant in the shot that it really sets the stage or mood, I believe. As I mentioned during voting, I like the depth of field that you used. It really serves to make the insect "pop" if you will, and stand out clearly. The diagonal lines give the shot some "motion" and it is not stagnant or static. The eyes rest on the insect, but are still pulled "down" some by the contrasting lines. The lighting and focus work well. though the back part of the bug seems a bit soft, it is nothing major, I think, unless you sit and stare at the picture for some time as I have been doing. :-)

I think it may be slightly more balanced if the bug was lower and to the left more, but I'm not sure. As it is, it feels as if he could leap out of the frame at any moment, and that could be a good thing. For stability, though, lower and left.

A great shot; one you can be proud of I think. Best to you in future challenges.

That's a cool shot, but to me all the snow looks yellowish/orange. Was that deliberate? It has a warm feeling to it, and the "glow" in interesting. Not sure what effect you were after, though.

Great lighting and focus. Sometimes it helps the interest level if the subject (in this case a Bible) in a more contextual setting. This seems especially true of books. I think it may have helped here to give teh viewer a sense of looking at more than just a book.

I think the mailbox should fill more of the frame, even though you have followed the "rules." I find myself focusing on the cars because that is where the road leads.

As someone who is afraid of heights, this is dizzy-ing. It seems a little muted to me, maybe a bit more contrast?

I really like how you have chosen to frame this. Gives an even more determined look to the bird I think, because now it has somewhere to go.

I like the composition of this. It is simple and straightforward, and doesn't have a lot of distracting elements. It is easy to focus on her face.

Great capture of the detail. Very desolate looking to me. It almost looks like it is them against the world.
