Easy Cookies....1..2..3....

I use this recipe frequently. My family calls them cuppa cuppa cuppa cookies.

The lighting seems a little harsh or off. Maybe try bouncing it onto the subject, rather than shining on it directly.

Hahahahah, I just have to tell you that I was glancing through the thumbnails, and appropriately, this one was the very last one. After looking at all that food, I guess I needed an antacid

That said, I think a closer crop would have been more effective, perhaps leaving out the edge of the plate.

I would like to see this shot without the haze as well, but there is something about it that really appeals to me. 10

Beautiful colors and great focus. It really doesn't say "dreams or nightmares" to me, but I could be missing something, I suppose. 6

To be perfectly honest, this was a shot that just didn't hole my attention long enough to try and figure out what you were getting at. After reading your comments, I trust you were pleased with the outcome, but I still could not see exactly where you were going with it. I guess in some ways that is the purpose of an abstract piece, and in that respect, you did well.

I think compositionally, if there had been more of the subject in the shot, perhaps lower and to the left, it would have seemed more balanced to me. The spring, or whatever the coil is on the right, is interesting, and provides a natural resting spot for the eyes, then leads them up and down, so perhaps that could have been given a more prominent role in the picture.

I think if you could have gotten the colors, etc. that you have without the extra noise, it would have been better. As it is, it kinda looks like you post-processed excessively to cover up some inherent flaw in the picture.

I know it sounds like I am totally downing your shot, but I promise that is not the case. This is the kind of shot I would show my English students and have them do a creative writing assignment on. As a photograph, it just doesn't appeal to me personally, though I do think it is an excellent example of abstract that causes people to wonder, adn leaves things open to interpretation.

Best wishes in future challenges.

Awesome shot. The texture of his skin is amazing. The only thing that I might suggest is a slightly wider cropping/framing on the left. Excellent picture.

Gordon, This shot is very well done, as usual, and I love the way the blue and yellow contrast eachother. The very sharp focus really grabs the eyes. The only thing "wrong" is that the white part at the bottom is realy bright, and seems a bit overexposed on this monitor. At work, where the monitor is slightly darker, it was just right.

Great work.

And a wonderful shot besides. Good work. I love the colors and the silhouette effect of the gulls. Can't wait to see more of your work!!

The yellowish tone gives this an ominous feeling, and I like the skyline you have shown. While I can appreciate the "stretch" of the challenge, even with the title, I don't get a feeling of flight from just the picture.
