Wonderful capture !!! I would have cropped the tree out so that the shot would meet the Zen theme better. With the tree out, the shot becomes a lot simpler and more pleasing to look at. 6

I would have to say that this is a good effort. My guess is that you included so much negative space to try to meet the zen theme. Unfortunately , the plantlife that the butterfly is on , spoils the simplicity expected. Lighting is also too strong IMO for a Zen themed shot. 5

Concept is good , but I feel execution could be improved. In it's current state , the simplicity I am looking for is not there. I would recommend a crop like this. I would do a square crop that includes the ripple at the top left corner and include the soloe bubble in the middle.

After the crop , then I would consider to make it a little more high key or low key. Hope this helps. 5

This IMHO is great !! I can hear the silence and see the silence. The toning is appropriate. Composition top notch. Balance of sharpness & softness is just right. I half expect some big boat to emerge from the fog and break all the silence. Brilliant. 1st 10 so far.
