fro-ZEN

Ahh, what the heck. This was my father's day present, a chance to snap off a few shots from shore with my new wireless transmitter.

Well, hope this does somewhat okay. Glad none of my kids drowned while I was barking at them to stay the heck back from the water's edge.

Oh yeah, peeeeeaace, caaaalllllm.

lol.

Post comment: I'm really chuckledby the comments made reagrding the noise in the background. I guess there are only a few that have ever fallen asleep to the sound of thunder or the crashing waves of the shore. To me, the sound of water silences all else. That is zen IMO.

the perspective makes the human figure dwarfed by the power of nature, very cool shot. I have this lens and am surprised to not see distortion!

Radical zen. Why not.

Congrats. I loved this shot during voting and am honored that you finished right next to my shot.
Love your info on all the chaos happening during the shooting.

PS: one of the things that I most valued from design classes was making sure that you have the "popping" color in three places (minimum of) to make the eye pop from spot to spot. The gorgeous orange did that beautifully in your gem.

There's something about this that looks fake.....maybe the way the white water is? I can't quite put my finger on it, but to me it looks fake, sorry. Perhaps it's the way you edited the water.

wow ! this is very impactful for a Zen shot and I totally dig it. The use of slow SS is excellent. composition is excellent. The whites are very well controlled. I'd love to be there. 2nd 10

The water seems so chaotic. Almost as if it was reaching out to grab something.

Troubled waters, the opposite of zen IMHO. Great picture though.

How did you get your model to hold so still? "The deafening Sound of Silence."

Nicely composed.

the man is just a little over edited for my taste, but it's still an excellent shot.

I like the image a lot. I hope it doesn't suffer from those who would discriminate against noise. Really unique combo of silk water and still man. Well done. 8
