OK, a couple of things that might help, if I may be so presumptuous. The location you chose let you down somewhat...the pier/yacht club structures seem to blend in to the skyline, making it look as if it's part of the city, not a ferry-ride separating the two. Next, the post processing routine you chose left some really weird artifacts around the top of the office buildings...see that patch of oversaturated blue? On a positive note, I really dig how the reflection of the tower in the still water looks.

Nice to see you give this image a whirl....it ain't easy, that's for sure. One thing I find at this location is that it's easier to get the exposure right when the multi-colours are on. The white lights tend to cause over-exposure and lost highlight details.

Direct, on-camera flash usually ends up creating a fairly dull image. While I do appreciate the red/orange tones you've captured, the scene isn't very interesting, I'm afraid. Perhaps if you'd selected the orange-est item and turned it horizontal to the rest of the rack? I dunno, just spitballin'.

Seems a touch over-cropped, which has given you a little bit of mushy detail, especially on the fur...although I realize getting any closer to this lovely kitty was probably not an option. :-)
