Three Scents Worthby casualguyComment: Superb in every way but overly sharp, IMO. Also, I'd like to see no border at all and let the vase do the decor. > 6 |

Green (and brown horses)by jajoneComment: I'm rating this shot, coz I fear I may not do very well here. Yes, the sky is a lil washed out. Yes, the shot was taken at or near mid day and is overly 'sunny'. Yes, the choice of subject does not reflect any preferences for 'slick artificiality', nor is it in any way spectacular.
Yet, it portrays a disappearing idyll in an appropiately 'common' way, without any 'affect'. I commend the photographer for awarding us this rare pleasure. |

secondary curvesby shutterflyComment: Topical, perhaps an iota too much so. The stroke, however, is fluid and natural with a near 3-D appearance. The colours are not only secondary but also complimentary in an organic sort of way. The ample white space appropiately suggests a canvas.
The fact that the embossed brush size is slightly out of focus introduces a tiny imperfection, most welcome here. > 6 |

lillyby jbruno1397Comment: I'm wondering if a reduced reflection from the leaves would have brought out better hues at dawn or dusk, assuming the shot was had during the day? The image would have warranted revisiting.
Any reason for spelling 'lilly' with a double 'l'? |

nude with glassesby ellamayComment: Searing title, bold abstract.
What's fun about this photograph, is the fact of concrete familiar objects subordinated to an unusual perspective whole. Just the right mixture for a 'wow' effect. The area behind the x's could be a tad lighter, since sublety and boldness are unlikely to compliment one another. ;-)
Unique, examplary, refreshing. |
