Codroipo, Villa Maninby paolobnrComment: Of the two challenges you've entered here, you managed to stir more (compositional and local) interest than one would expect. I cannot help but anticipate a portfolio. ;-) |

I see You Too!by vtruanComment: The inter-species curiosity captured here makes this a very worthwhile shot. The composition is quite satisfying. Lighting could, perhaps, be improved on. Most of all, however, I'd wish for a much crisper focus on Mr. T junior.
Despite this, one of the more stirring images in this challenge, which effects my vote for it. |

La vie d'Artisteby sergutComment: To me, and apparently a handful of other voters, this image was ribbonesque. The key to appreciate the poignancy of this photo, perhaps, is to be able to discern what it is not. |

Codroipo, Villa Maninby paolobnrComment: Despite the extreme contrast, the image is worth cherishing. The grand piazza is well set against the bike with the sky nearly as swept.
Very good natural composition, considerate of tonal balance. The near-central horizon really is where it should be given the vertical format. |

Consider the Lilyby banmornComment: Such a humble request (title), I cannot help but accept the invitation, and I think the image does it justice.
While some may object to the bud being crisper than the blossom or its right-of-center inclination, I am more given to the charm and natural elegance of this capture than to consider corrections. ;-)

dropby rhipsterComment: Now if this was hand-held, I'd be impressed! ;-)
Beautiful, simple and flawless macro. |

So Inclinedby ellamayComment: A difficult balance (the narrow depth of field vs. the retundity of the subject and the pedantic demands for sharpening such an image).
I love the (unusual, deductive) choice of b and w and the formal but precise title. What crisp and minimal harmony. It suggests a marked style of shooting, to me. |

Just a warm placeby poxyComment: A unique find and photo.
The extended pipe and vivid colours of yesterday's radiator add a strong point of interest to this atmospheric image. The swathed out background aptly prevents any distraction.
I wonder how a more distant perspective (one with the object clearly subordinated to the landscape) would have worked... |

La vie d'Artisteby sergutComment: Journalism par excellence!
I've given 6/271 entries in this challenge above average marks. This is my highest rated entry.
The dry objective manner (b and w, large depth of field, the unselective lighting etc.) of this poignant capture make both a stark social statement and a deeply moving photo. The (apparent) refusal of the photographer to embellish even parts or aspects of this image result in bared nerves, at least, on part of this viewer.
The essence and spirit of this -record- leave neither margin nor doubt: meaning is that which is.
