Rising Waterby skywalker404Comment: This is an interesting subject and there is a LOT of activity in it. Depth of field plays a great role in a shot like this because of the 3-dimensional distances between all of the water droplets in this photograph. I believe that you needed a much faster shutter speed and possibly a flash to do a better job of stopping the motion. There are a lot of motion trails on these water droplets and the fountain streams are showing motion blur as well. |

Frozen Popcornby timj351Comment: This is a unique entry! I like the concept here. I really wish your popcorn had not absorbed the blue light reflections from the carpet and the bowl. The contrast would have been much greaterwith white popcorn against the dark background. A tighter crop could have also eliminated some of the empty space at the top of the photograph. |

Taking A Walkby StillwatchComment: I would vote high on this shot for a sunset challenge but it isn't making the cut for a stopped motion challenge. The ony moving item in the photo is the human and there is motion blur on his hand... |

Splashfaceby guybrowmeComment: This is almost an excellent shot. If the spash were in the frame of view we would be cooking with gas :) BTW- I hope that wasn't yer camera making the splash :) |

Lava Lampby Pete02tComment: This is a cool photograph but I'm not impressed with it's application to the "stopped motion" challenge. In my humble opinion, motion cannot be stopped with a long exposure and no flash. The photo is also slanted downward to the right. Leveling the subject would have improved the photo. |

Water Droplet Treeby ayshihComment: I hope others catch the meaning of this photo the way I have. I wanted to complain about framing and composition until I really studied this photo. This is very nice! I'm not going to offer you any criticism on this photo because I like it just the way it is. Damn fine job! |

I Scream, You Scream . . .by karmatComment: Nice entry! I like the spash created by the ice cream scoop. I would like this photograph much better with a different perspective. For some reason, I don't like the drain and scoop being cut by the edge of the photo. I think this may have been more dramatic shot from a different angle or cropped differently. |

cat-apultby svaledaComment: This is a cool photograph but the camera beat you up on it. Your metering didn't catch the cat as the subject of the photo and the focus/depth of field is off because of it. The cat should be more in focus and the rest of the photo should be more blurry. |

Soaring Freeby davewComment: This is a difficult photo for me to comment on. The bird id definitely moving and this is an excellent photograph of that bird. The composition and all the other techincal elements are right on target. If this were a birds challenge, you would be getting a 10. Is this bird gliding? If so, I wouldn't think that it's a great choice for a 'stopped motion' challenge. I'm not sure that moving the camera to follow a moving (but stationary) object is a good example of capturing stopped motion. It would be sorta like photographing a ferarri riding on a flatbed rail car. Do I make any sense here? |

52 Pick Upby connieComment: Congratulations on a nice photo! The gloves made this work rather well. I tried some card shuffling in my own efforts at stopped motion. The hands would be better if they were centered in this shot. It would possibly be nicer as well if there were some more empty space (not nuch) underneath the hands. Nice Work! |
