Pressure Valveby amonteforteComment: I think this is a well done shot, but the louvres in the background on the right are not the best choice of background possibly... good shot :) - setzler |

Antlersby justineComment: This is a nice shot overall, but I think it's weak on the challenge theme. The dark background makes me think the photo is contrived and not natural, therefore, the hand of man is at play in the photo? - setzler |

Remnants of Rainby KonadorComment: I think this is a great photo, but I would like it even more if the subject of the single rain drop was a larger part of the overall image... nice work :) - setzler |

Broken Motion by JackoComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Jacko,
This is a neat shot. I think you had a very creative idea and did a nice job of executing it. There are lots of ways to achieve this same effect also... you can wave a piece of black paper in front of the lens as well :) The wow factor in this photo definitely lies in the 'how'd he do that?'
There are several ways you could have solved your background issue as well... primarily, your model needed to be further away from the background. She is too close to it for an F8 / 2.5" exposure to not include detail of the surroundings. I believe that F4 at 2.5" would have improved the overall image by brightening up your subject a little more :) the color is weak and there is a hint of the tungsten yellow glow that may have been avoidable with either white balance settings or some level adjustments.
Congrats on first place and two weeks in a row :)
