Hi Wildblue....

I think black and white was a good choice for this photo... the contrast is very strong for sure, and that usually lends well to monochromatic images. The 'from above' theme here seems to be just a little weak. I can see that I'm looking down hill though, but the overall impact of that angle doesn't seem to really grab my attention very well.

Another issue, in my opinion, with this photo is the lack of a strong subject or single focal point of the photo. The wall leads my eye into the photo but there is nothing of interest at the end of the line. The title also leads my mind to believe that there should be something there... something to see at the end of the 'brick road' :)

I think this shot has a strong potential, but I don't like your choice of being out of focus. If your intention was 'soft' focus, I think you went a little far with it. Personally, I believe that strong sharp focus would work very well here... - setzler

very strong shot... the lighting and the toning are both excellent... i do remember the old duracell battery ads :) I think this shot would be just as strong or even stronger without the object on the shoulder and the 'ad' relationship. The look on the face is intense enough without the extra push... great shot :) - setzler
