Have A Seatby hershey159Comment: that's a lot of snow :) Maybe a different angle or a different lighting situation would have made a more powerful image... - setzler |

Candles in the darkby DrakeComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Drake...
I believe that this is an intriguing composition... the color is subtle in most cases, but never-the-less, a strong element of this image. I like the light/dark contrast in this photo. I use similar compositional tactics myself in a lot of my own photos. The only compositional element that I could possibly make a suggestion for is the darkness at the bottom of the frame. Maybe cropping some of that out would create more of a 'base' for your candles to rise from. That negative space in the bottom of the frame gives me the impression that the candles and holder are floating in space.
I'm not really sure why this photo did not achieve a higher score. I think, based on some of the comments you received, that the impact of the color itself was not as strong as many would have liked to see.
Keep up the good work :)

Ripples of Freedomby severinComment: nice capture of wind :) The color saturation here is strong, but maybe a tad too strong... there appears to be a bit of noise visible in the sky area... - setzler |

Lonely summer eveningby shutterbugComment: very nice shot.. the little spot of sun really adds interest.. the only improvement i could offer here would be a slight rotation to the left to level up the horizion... nice work :) - setzler |
