Hi Tom...

I like the architecture capture in this photo quite a bit... The brickwork and the lines and general composition are all excellent. The color looks a bit odd... possibly from a saturation bump, but not sure... A little extra contrast could help a bit I believe...

As for the postcard theme, I'm not so sure I like it. Postcards generally illustrate a site you would want to visit. I'm not saying that Brooklyn is not a good place to visit, but this particular spot doesn't particularly inspire me to make a trip to see it.

The bridge itself, on the other hand, would be a much more inpsiring scene on its own I believe. The architecture provided there lends itself very well to some interesting photos... I have seen this particular bridge photographed many times in many different ways... I think it's the GW bridge? Not exactly sure...

Hi Kenbo...

The theme you are offering with your postcard photo is a strong one. I also think your composition is excellent. The stairway on the right leads the viewer right up to the shrine... I think the weather conditions and time of day were your enemy in this photo. I think this scene could be photographed on an overcast day to allow you to bring out the more subtle details and keep everything in the scene inside a good exposure range without having any areas too dark or too bright.

This is a beautiful postcard photo... The composition is excellent and I really like the touch of green that the tree on the left offers... That patchy white clouds also add a beautiful element to the blue sky.

This architecture is beautiful. The lines and angles really seem to come together nicely in this photo. I don't think there is much I can offer for improvement here.

Hi Wes and welcome back... Glad to see you went out of your way to bring us this photo because it is simply beautiful. I think I caught onto your idea with the coloring with my original comment on this photo. You did an excellent job of capturing some by-gone era with the coloring. The weather was also beautiful for enhancing this theme. The grey sky works nicely with the bare trees that are just starting to bud with spring in the northern part of the US.

I think this photo is underrated. I don't know why it didn't score a lot higher. I actually think that the 'cheeze' factor of most postcards is quite stereotypical and the aggregate vote on the site probably is used to seeing things that way.

Excellent work... I wouldn't change a thing about it...

Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more...

This shot is quite interesting... the red tone seems to accent the fire theme quite well... I like the 'abstract' nature of the shot, but I'm not really used to seeing much 'abstract' in postcard themes. I also think the photo would have more impact if it was a little bit larger. The addition of some 'Hawaii' text on the image would also probalby enhance the postcard theme quite a bit as well...

Hi Jeremy..

This is a nice water exposure... I love the fuzzy water. This one is perfect. In a lot of cases, the water will get too 'blown out' under long exposure. I like these examples where there is a good amount of water blur but there is also still detail visible.

The composition on this shot is excellent... The water just leads me throught the image from top to bottom with no distractions or other obnixious elements in the image.

Now let me whine a little....

I don't care much for the text layout... The 'falls' should probably be with the rest of the text... I do, however, see that there is not a great place for text on the image :)

I like the general composition of this photo... It looks like a fine composition for a postcard... The symmetry works very well.

The puffy white clouds in the blue sky are always nice. The can really enhance a photo. The only area I see that could be improved in this particular photo is possibly the time of day you shot it... The front of the building seems to be a little on the dark side... I don't know if a differnt time of day would have lit it up more or not...
