Interesting composition but the focus is a bit soft overall. I can't determine any particular advantage here by not bringing some element of the subject into sharp focus...

I have a hard time enjoying photos of 'food' where the food seems unappealing. It doesn't appeal to my senses in a positive way.

very nice composition and lighting on this shot. I feel that the depth of field in this shot is 'mislocated'. None of the gear teeth are fully sharp and they are the subject of this image.
