Merry Christmasby jere2201Comment: For an indoors shot with a flash, this is pretty good. I really liked the Merry Christmas sign. You can use any stable object as a "make shift" tripod - some photogs even use small bean bags to allow then to convert almost any sort-of flatish surface to a camera platform. |

LOL. Not sure that was fully "in costume", but this is in a converted tractor-trailer trailer outside. It had rained the night before, and the floor had gotten quick slick (no falls, thankfully). I'm guessing they were going for traction rather than appearance. At least it wasn't snow or freezing rain this year... ;-p |

Christmas Wonderby photokopComment: Cute idea, but there is too much conflict in the blending - especially the lighting. For example, santa lit from the left, boy lit from the right, stocking underexposed, boy overexposed. Blending multiple images is too easy, but very, very difficult to do well. Lot more to it than is obvious. |

The First Noelby Bear_MusicComment: This is an elegant and balanced card. To me, it says, solid, stable, reliable, and yet is a celebration of the season. I agree with RyanWareham - worth shopping it to card makers. |

Starry Trekmasby giantmikeComment: GAP2012 seems to be just trying to follow the challenge description, which sure sounds like the card should include the family or at least a member of the family. I was wondering how to do this without it being obvious that it was my picture. So, I borrowed someone else's children...
I voted fairly high on this one because of its creativity - but, I think that you really needed to be a Trekkie to "get" it. Message edited by author 2012-12-19 09:33:03. |

Merry Christmas DPCby neenee1999Comment: Wonderful picture - one of the best in the challenge, IMO. Beauty, innocence, endearing, charming, engaging, wonderful eyes, great expression, all captured so very, very well.
After reading LoVi's comment, I think she has a point. For me, I really only look at the right 2/3 of the image. You could easily lose to the left of her hat (and the "candy cane"), and put the red in the greeting below her. |

Christmas Trainingby Alex_PetriniComment: Why focus on the negative? You got 42 votes above 6, and 14 above 7. Personally, I think the Grinch stopped by just to vote on your shot.
There wasn't enough context for me to really understand the text, which kind-of left it unresolved. Great concept and well executed. (and no, I am not the Grinch, or one of his minions). |
