Day 19 - 3x3by BudyaComment: Very nice contrast, and yes, the subject does work well in black & white. However, the center of your picture and focal point is where the leaves attach to the stem - virtually no interest. This makes the crop in the middle of the leaves also problematic. You might try a crop of this where it focuses on a single leaf. Your DOF on this shot leaves the leaves in the background blurry, but because they also have the strong pattern, they become a distraction rather than an asset. |

Day 18 - Daisyby BudyaComment: Nice lighting, contrast, back lighting and detail. Something about the composition bothers me - too much black above the flower, not enough to the right, too much above in comparison to the sides - not sure exactly what... |

23 - Lucky After His Bathby ErikVComment: Hair in front of the eye on right detracts. Not much contrast between the light towel and white dog, but I like it anyhow. The wavy hair is interesting, and it is a nice comparison between the towel texture and dog's hair. |

22 - Lucky Before His Bathby ErikVComment: What a lot of hair! Reminds me of my aunt's dog - similar look, but white with large black spots. May want a little more space above & below the dog. |

24 - Soft Focus S-Curveby ErikVComment: Nice. They don't make curves in anything but 90 degrees in NE Indiana (well, not totally true, but close). Makes you wonder where the road goes. |

My First Moon :-}by QuigleyComment: The advice I got is to shoot the moon like it was a daylight shot - after all the moon is an excellent reflector, and it is reflecting the sun. Especially with a 500mm zoom, you should be able to shoot 1/60 to 1/250 and still get enough light and excellent detail. Your shot is excellent for first time out - it is oh so very, very easy to blow out the moon while everything else is black, or to blur it badly. |

22 - Boyby BudComment: What a contrast between a living human being, actively engaged in watching something, and lifeless dirt background. Without your description, I'd have no idea what to make of the spoon - waiting to eat (it looks pretty dirty)?, digging?, a find to take home? |

Day 22 - Bokehby figaroComment: Not my cup of tea. I almost feel like I'm being attacked when I look at this photo (the spiny things reaching out from the center towards me, crossing from the photo into my comfort zone). |

Day 22: Movie Starby jasonlpriceComment: What an enigmatic look, especially coupled with a gun. You can't tell if he's going to lift an eyebrow and wink, or squint, frown, and take aim. I think the gun in front of his face adds to this feel. Nice old-time feel to the shot. Plain background doesn't distract from the shot, and enhances the enigmatic feel. |
