Look at this shot and compare it with your race car shots - you can clearly see the difference in quality. First, this is a tough shooting condition - bright light on the front / right side, deep shade from the trees, shooting into the sun, so you also have the deep shadow of the truck itself. The contrast between the two lighting conditions loses almost all detail in the shadows while almost blowing out the highlights on the cab roof (for example). Also, your shot looks like it has an overall pink cast to it (even though blue sky can be seen through the trees). If this is a morning or evening shot, I suggest going back at the opposite time of day and reshoot (presuming the lighting would be behind you). If not, you might try focusing and getting your readings from the rear mudflap. This will bring out more detail in the shadow, but worsen your highlights in the front. You might also try shooting from off the right front fender, again getting your settings from the shadowed part of the bed.

What a fun car! A couple of nits on this: the top of the rollbar aligns with the bottom edge of the hedge. Parking the car forward a couple of feet, or shooting from a higher perspective would remove this unfortunate juxtaposition. Also, the two white objects at the base of the hedge REALLY show up in this light - quick clone brush would take care of those.

What a different frame for a lighthouse! Besides liking lighthouses... Wish this one was a bit more in focus (I know, it is a choice, can't have everything). This would probably not score well, but I like it a lot.

Very nice. Reminds me of going 4-wheeling in the Oregon Coastal Range (of course, our trucks didn't look this nice - they'd had a few encounters with stumps, etc.). Love the blue sky, the spot of purple flowers, and the evergreens and hills.

Nice dock shot. I should wander down to our yard and shoot some of the equipment there - I work for a scrap processor, so we do things like bale metal so it'll fit into steel furnaces. They also have magnetic cranes - just a huge electro-magnet instead of a claw - and an auto shredder that chews through a car in about 90 seconds, reducing it to fist-sized chunks. Rumor has it one of our staff parked in the wrong spot...

Nice perspective. Good luck with HDR - I haven't got the hang of it yet either...

I think these were once called motorbikes. While the rock stripe provides a nice leading line, it cuts through the scooter visually. Love the complementing wall hanging / painting.

Wow! From the thumbnail, I thought this was taillights of a custom roadster, with cones that stuck out from the back. This turned out great - love the tight crop on the left that minimizes possible distractions. Also, the water beads on the paint add a lot.

Nice. I never did figure out the six lights across the front - maybe to make it look much bigger than it actually is? Regardless of old / new - it is great they kept this classic in production and available. It is interesting just how many of the new ones I see zipping around Ft. Wayne, Indiana (which is still a mostly domestic vehicle town).
