I'm still poking around the edges of this thing called HDR, so any help will be appreciated.

I've admired this beastie for a long time and it was still parked in its same spot when I needed it. You may be seeing details of this critter for a few days as I work through my fascination with it.
:-))

Here is the 'regular' version:

I seem to be thinking that I'd prefer to see a version sort of between the two. It's a great angle and there's lots of texture, but I can't help feeling that the effect is a little strong here.

Nice perspective. Good luck with HDR - I haven't got the hang of it yet either...

First....I like it. I'm just giving mty two cents from my own attempts dabbling. I've found that I almost always end up with problems with halo/shadows with the HDR converter. The colors also seem to acquire a surreal edge to them. This isn't a bad thing in an image like this old truck, but skies have a tendency to take a hit the worst.......at least IMO....8>) Perhaps a little contrast and/or shadows after the HDR treatment, possibly some color balance would change this in a manner you may find appealing. I know when I first started messing with HDR, I didn't touch the image after the converter.....now I see it as just another step and will often continue on afterwards.

Just some thoughts.....YMMV!!!

I like the hdr version but I do agree that it would look better if the strength was toned down a bit. Other than that..very nice I really like the perspective.

Interesting effect looks almost like stained glass

Great subject and nice angle for this image. I think I prefer the 'regular' version though.

The hdr does make it more interesting but just a little too much imho. If you are using photomatix you can try backing off the strength to make it more natural ... unless thats what you were going for :)

Both regular and HDR versions have their charm. Nice!
