tonemapped.jpgby lifeafter2amComment: I hate these shots - where you have a dark corner, but can't get rid of it because a main point of interest is also on that side of the shot. Your dark upper left corner distracts from the shot, taking away the impact it would otherwise have. Nothing you can do about it (that I know of).
This is a great shot - nice colors in the water, beautiful sky on the right side. The lights on land are a bit blown out (especially the white / yellow). I can almost hear the water lapping at the shore.

Crater Lake National Park, Oregon, 2009by fas-ligandComment: It doesn't hurt you that Crater Lake is one of my favorite places. If you've never driven the rim at sunset, it is well worth doing - though probably not a winter time activity. The photo is a bit dark, a bit more of stark white vs. darker areas would be closer to Adams' style. |

Spire IIby lunachickenComment: You need some white puffy clouds... This is a very nice shot that at least captures Adams' style of highlight and shadow. Nicely done. |

Red Onionby micheicleComment: Sorry. I got a good laugh out of this (the idea of doing the dicing on the floor!).
Welcome to dpchallenge. I hope you'll submit many more pictures. This is a great place to learn (if you can tolerate the comments). One suggestion I got that was very helpful was to participate in the side challenges (see Community Forums). This helps you to get to know others, and get helpful comments on your pictures - since they know who you are, they'll try to be more helpful than judgmental).

Fishermenby Rino63Comment: For me, this is a very nice shot, but it is a tad too washed out. |

Wedding Portraitby AnnComment: The bride seems to have a long face. Does she really like the groom? Or did her mom say something? |

Unwaryby redpandaComment: The curb forms an extremely strong horizontal line that bisects the child in the wrong places (at his eyes, just below shoulders). Cute kid, great expression, good concept, but that curb just kills it for me. |

The Sea's Furyby DrAchooComment: As a native Oregonian, I love this picture. It is an image that takes some absorbtion to appreciate. A 10-second, vote, and move on just does not do it justice - it has depth and staying power that other images just don't. I love the subtle colors in the sky and in the ocean, the ruggedness of the rocks, power of the wave, and serenity of the sky. This is a picture that could hang in a living room for years, and one not get tired of it or fail to find new interest and inspiration from it.
