A Pinecone In Autumnby GolferDDSComment: i really like this idea, but somehow the composition seems cluttered to me. There is too much in the frame..I would have cleared up the cones in the bg or made them part of what is in focus and tried to keep the bg as clean as possible. I don't know if that would actually improve the shot, but it was what first struck me. |

Memories of my Grandfatherby Ten13Comment: I think I would have liked a little more light on the bottle, or maybe a greater exposure would have brought this shot out. As it is, I think its a bit too dark and the white of the bottle appears too yellow to be very appealing. I like the simple composition though. |

garlic breathby jackditchComment: i think the skin of garlic has some good texture..if the lighting was a little less bright (or the shot was less exposed) and the highlights were not blown out as they are here (only some, mind you!) it would have improved this shot a lot. I love the full frame of it, and the subject matter is perfect. :) Message edited by author 2003-12-30 21:06:15. |

Feeding The Sensesby ToddhComment: I've pondered this shot for a couple of minutes now, trying to decide if I like the grain or not. I've decided I really like it. Its different, and I think it adds to the sense of the shot. I feel like I'm smelling the warm of whatever is reflected in that lid, and I love the lighting on the face of the cook. Its just beautiful. |

The sweet smell of lunchby loz1Comment: i really like the tones on this..can't say I agree with the aroma in this picture..its not the first thing I think of when I see this, except that wild animals never smell very good! On composition, bw is always a good choice when it comes to a zebra ;) but I think that there is too much distracting stuff above his head...why did you leave it in? Do you think it adds to the message you are trying to convey? If you don't have satisfactory answers to those questions, i think i'd consider cropping it out! :) nice capture though. :) |

Fresh baked breadby Dave GordonComment: i would have liked it if you actually got closer to the bread so we could see more of its texture and really feel like we're getting at its beautiful aroma. This angle and lighting I just don't find are doing the bread justice, though I appreciate the thought that went into the composition! |
