Day 4 by WriteHeartComment: I miss the fall colors in San Diego, but I don't miss raking them up after they fall! Nice DOF and bright colors. Good angle up at the sky with treetop bokeh. |

Day-08.jpgby KenComment: The PP really gave this a soft focus almost like a painting. It's more interesting than the one original, but almost looks like it was taken while you were on your run. I like the color combination. I have never tried HDR and wouldn't know where to start. |

Beautiful dayby gisliComment: Congratulations on top 10! I like the mirror lake here much better than your Rule of Thirds entry of the same scene. Snow in April and in September. Does it ever go away? I'm glad to live in San Diego with our great year-round weather, but I would love to have some of the scenery and skies you have in Iceland. |

Mesa Archby bryanbrazilComment: Congratulations on top 10! I think we have seen this arch a lot, but this is one of the best shots of it. I love the sun and starburst along with the excited figure on it. The flare is unfortunate, but is difficult to control and doesn't hurt it so much. Unfortunately I didn't even get a chance to look at this challenge during voting. |

Day 5 - San Diego skylineby boyd2000Comment: joynim I think "Believe It Or Not" was done by Joey Scarbury, but Christopher Cross does have lots of hits, as well as Air Supply, but mainly from the 70's and 80's as are most concerts at this venue. The season is about over in this intimate (1400 seat) outdoor venue overlooking a marina. They don't have the latest mega-acts, but we have gotten some pretty good shows. Stevie Wonder opened his first tour in over 10 years there last month. It was a great show!
I really messed up not checking the settings before taking these pictures. ISO 800 with fast shutter and high F stop made it very grainy. |

A Touch of Autumnby jenesisComment: This is such a beautiful autumn shot. I'm afraid I only had a chance today to look at thumbnails and this one stood out the most. It looks like a painting or a jigsaw puzzle picture. I hope you're doing OK. Hospitals are unhealthy places to go to. |

Fly Like a Minnowby jenesisComment: So what were they, grunion? We have "grunion runs" (google it) in Southern California where the grunion jump out of the sea at high tide certain nights that can be forecasted long in advance and lay their eggs in the sand and then try to get back into the water. |

Day 4 - My Morningby boyd2000Comment: To answer all the concerns, the oatmeal (quick oatmeal 2 minutes in microwave BTW) and vitamins aren't normally on the PC, but are there to fit the picture better. This morning I ate it on the freeway on the way to dropping off the dog at the vet to get groomed. Multitasking is required on my job (UNIX Sysadmin). |

Flightby snsComment: It looks like Torrey Pines in San Diego. Great capture, but I don't know if it's oversharpened or what but the lines are too fractured. I wouldn't call it a portrait. |

Is everybody ready?by sniperComment: Everybody is NEVER ready when you have a bunch of kids. Cute expressions on everyone's faces. |
