It's a terrible photo, I know. Just wanted to document the moment I saw a "flying" fish. :)

I'm not sure, I'm guessing maybe Smelt?? Do smelt jump out of the water like this?? I'm guessing not grunion though (I'm originally from San Diego and am quite familiar with grunion runs... Good times!) :) They weren't coming up on shore, just hopping out of the water. Pretty funny to watch.

That is so amazing! And what an amazing story. The experience alone had to be worth it. I love how you can see the reflection of the fish in the water.

I bet the bird was beautiful too!
