My soul still remembersby NeatComment: Struggling to figure out what's troubling your soul here. A thoughtful photograph in any case. Looks good low key. |

6:45am - Homeless - Coldby dswannComment: I've been trying to temper my general distaste for pictures of homeless people while evaluating this image. I'm not doing so well. This is a sad but common scene, and, especially in this case, all too easy to capture -- i.e. no risk of eye contact, you're at a safe distance, and your subject is immobilized. I appreciate that you're trying to show us a sad state of affairs, but in my opinion, this doesn't add anything to an already overflowing body of homeless people photography.
A surer strategy would be to take the guy (let's assume it's a guy) a hot cup of coffee and a donut, get to know him a little bit, and then take his picture -- i.e. show us more of the man and less of his condition. Of course, that's easy for me to suggest from the comfort of my PC. Anyway... |

Specterby aznymComment: Awesome. Any further attempt at words will ruin it for me. This goes high on my list.
A ten for you (one of two I've handed out). |

eternal sunshine of the spotless mindby whiteroomComment: Who can resist this fairy tale? Who would want to? One of those images I wish I could climb into and explore. Alas, it's futile -- like revisiting one's childhood. My pick of the evening challenge. |

quadratum infinitumby bspurgeonComment: The eye bounces around the composition finding seemingly many paths to escape -- but they're all dead ends. Wonderfully labyrinthic. |

oscuro anonimato by timfythetooComment: Photopointilism? Reduced to warm colors and soft shadows and points of light, your subject is quite beautifully rendered. |

Mallet, mind; Mind, malletby bohemkaComment: Pinhole? In any case, I love how this is reduced to lines and a few suggestive shapes. Also, it looks like you or your subject was in motion as I see some motion blur. It adds some welcome energy, gravity. Excellent. |

Black Fridayby PennyStreetComment: I so wish that bag weren't blue. The white lines and perpendicular black shadows would play off of each other so nicely otherwise. I'm not sure what story you're trying to tell. In any case, I'm happy to find my own story. |

andrew's breakdownby saintaugustComment: Great composition -- I'm guessing (hoping) this was found and not composed. Not crazy about the orange-ish processing though. |
