Torches For The Heroesby unicumComment: This is a nice take and quite different from many other entries...The dark fuzzy shape above the lantern on the upper left is distracting - I don't know what you had to work with but if it had been possible, I think cropping more from the left and perhaps including more of what seems to be stairs on the right would have really made my eyes focus on the torches.. good job getting the guy on the left in relatively good focus. |

A Night At Homeby arjunasComment: Interesting sky.. I do find it a bit busy and think that just having one house in the shot would add to your composition. |

Destinationby BrinComment: What an amazing capture.. not just the double rainbow, but getting the plane in it as well... had the plane been in the middle it wouldn't be such a strong composition (IMO) |

Night Sky Reflectionsby MacDonaldComment: Thank you very much for your wonderfully indepth critique of my photo.. yes, I did wish I had given it a different title... but the rotation was one I was and still am, pleased with... the decision to remove the detail in the sand was also one I gave a lot of thought to but in the end it created the feeling I wanted... I fully appreciate how confusing it was to many and probably some of my future entries will be as well..... grin.. but that's why I love photography so much, it supports the creative bent in all of us... after viewing your portfolio, I am impressed with your work .. I see that you have a very busy life so taking such care/time as you did in making comments/suggestions on my photo is something I am very thankful for. regards, mac |

Night Sky Reflectionsby MacDonaldComment: Thanks so much to the people who left comments. and to those who voted..... Yes, I know I could have left it 'right' side up but.... when I was a wee child, I always wanted to walk in the clouds where I thought the angels lived.. this photo gave me that feeling. So here I am, many years later, photographing my childhood dream.
here it is as I photographed it originally
Here it is before I rotated it
I would like to tell all the voters who said it made them feel dizzy or disorientated that I am so sorry....... I just have a deep love of abstracts. Message edited by author 2006-03-01 00:37:48. |
