Day Tenby TuckersmomComment: very cool abstract macro! I like this a lot! The detial in the stamen is tack sharp, and the soft effects with the processing make this really POP! Together, they are a winning combo!

Day 10 - The calm before the stormby KelliComment: Originally posted by chaimelle: I think this is a nice setting, but it seems kind of harsh. The water is almost too blue, and you have lost any detail in the sky. I always have this problem too--I haven't figured out yet how to get a good shot when sun and shade are involved. |
try cropping out the sky, and focusing on the flowers & water. another trick may be to use a warming filter, or circular polarizer. for this image, I think all the bg w/the bldg takes away from the pretty blooms, where the little dock & the water actually fit the scene & work well with the rustic nature of daylilies, so a crop could work well here to enhance your focal point as well eliminate the bleached out sky...
ok, there's my 2cents for today :)

I love these things as a meal, pick 'em early morn, keep them in cold, then dredge in egg/milk, then breadcrumbs, fry up in olive oil with a little garlic..DELISH!! yummy with mayo too...just make sure you get them befor ethe white flies do!
as for the photo, I think you've captured awesome detil & color there and it's great against that leaf for bg!

The Hellyans Feast on the Mothershipby Art RoflmaoComment: actually, I think the babies are scared & running to hide under mother's dress! :)geez, that is some flower! you can create comic book around it's life cycle.
the tight crop always works for me b/c I'm "going blind" as I age, and I love details...
