This is Kari Ann, greetings from the Critique Club:

composition: the leading line of the stripe of metallic draws the eye nicely around the image.

color: a beautiful conversion to black and white

contrast: a little harsh on some of the numbers, but otherwise very interesting

focus: nice and sharp, great focus

depth of field: such a small area, that there isnt that much depth of field. so i cant really say with this one.

lighting: very different, i love how the letters really shine

other: An interesting take on something we view everyday, and never see real beauty in. great job on capturing the essence of it. I hope you'll stick around DPC, grow your portfolio, and share more of your work. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to PM me.

This is Kari Ann, greetings from the Critique Club:

composition: nice use of Rule of thirds, and leading lines lead my eye down the row nicely

color:vibrant colors, a tad strong though.

contrast: good contrast in a general term

focus: nicely done on the front buddha

depth of field: I really like how you used such a shallow depth of field, its refreshing. And that last buddha is awesome, almost like a cluster of stars

lighting: Way too harsh for a still life. Try diffusing the light or finding an alternative light source for better results

other: In technical terms, its a bit of a miss. The colors are oversaturated, and the lighting is glaring. But, from a sensical point of view, its very interesting. I keep a buddha by my computer desk, for extra luck when editing photos. :-D. I hope to see your portfolio grow in the coming months here at DPC, you certainly live in a place where photographic opportunities await. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to PM me anytime.

This is Kari Ann, greetings from the Critique Club:

composition: the two are positioned nicely in the rule of thirds, no problems here

color: i love black and white family photos, this is no exception

contrast: nice contrast, his shirt kind of gets lost in the background though

focus: focus seems a little off, the womens eyes arent sharp, and the boys face isnt sharp

depth of field: no distracting elements in the background, so good work on that

lighting: the front fill flash is a little harsh ( i presume that was your lighting situation)

other: Cute shot, but these types dont usually fair well in challenges. These are good, however, to fill up your family album with and cherish for years to come. And yes, you are very lucky! I hope to see you around in the challenges, good luck to your future!
If you have any other questions, feel free ot PM me at any time.

This is Kari Ann, greetings from the Critique Club:

composition: very unique. The mirror is positioned just perfectly to align the stone walk.

color: The pop of blue really adds interest to the photo, along with the differently colored boats in the background

contrast: nicely conrolled here, except a suggestion would be to increase it in the sky to make it bolder.

focus: great focus, everything can be seen clearly, from the background boats to the little sand grains.

depth of field: excellent choice on f8, it really makes everything tack sharp and interesting from front to back

lighting: beautiful light, not too overpowering, but enough to highlight everything in the image with a nice soft light

other: this image really made me take a double take. i love the creativeness, its really unique to see something like this. Only thing i can see to be improved is the rocks in the reflection have a slight halo around them, possibly due to oversharpening. but its minor and not a big distraction. Keep using these creative eyes of yours, you'll go far. If you have any other questions or concerns, you can PM me anytime.
