No photoshop or filter. That's  Quigley holding a flash back there. The star happens when you face that flash directly towards the camera.

7 Marriette.jpgby ErikVComment: No I don't think you need to lighten her face anymore. Overall its a good image. I think the flash is too obvious. With that amount of sunlight, I think I would have used a reflector to bounce the light back and give it a more natural look. IMO |
