bad points Skin tones seem a little dirty. But that's being picky for a bad point. Relevence to title doesn't show anything. I.e if the person was in uniform it would be better. Couple seem to be more laughing than loving
Good points nice composure and black BG, overall a very nice little image.
Overall Score Going with an 7, because although technicaly brilliant, the image dosn't have the WOW factor of a great photograph in my opinion. The subject is just a little on the normal side. However, if I was a betting man, from all the others I have seen thus far, i think you will win. DPC like patriotic images ;)

Bad points: The pole is wonkey! needs a 1 Degree rotation to the left. Pretty dull subject and colors to me. sorry. To be realy petty, your border is bigger at the top than it is at the sides. only by about 1 pixel but these things matter ;)

Bad points: I love shallow DOF, but when text is the main subject I think a bit more would be nicer. Really don't ike the subject, although I agree with your point 100%
Good points: Quite like the positioning, remenisant of Gordon for some reason. The gold came out well so obviously know your exposure well.
Overall Score: Really stuck on what to give this. In some ways I find it dull, but the basicness (if there was such a word) is kind of attractive.And the idea is nice. Will start with a mid 6 and return later i think!

Bad points: mmm, thanksful for warmth is a bit naff to me. And a candle doesn't really give off much warmth and thus isn't symbolic of the term 'warmth'
Good points: nice exposure, nice and clean. Technicaly very good. Although would like to see more exposure on the hands.
