It's Mine. ALL Mine. by karmatComment: ROFLMAO!! Your title is GREAT!! Reminds me of the movie "A Bugs Life" hehe I don't think the candy being sharper would have behooved this photograph at all. The fly is the main subject and the candy the complimentary subject so I see it as spot on! You did great for not having a macro lens :) |

Blending Inby KelliComment: I can't really say much that hasn't been said already but I will try :)
The red on the legs and antenna really help this little guy's beauty. I second the DOF comment, it is spot on. I also like that you seem to have captured him eating :) That makes this a very interesting photograph to look at :) Last thing: Is this a grasshopper or am I crazy?? He is a cutie :P |

On Wings of Mythby CNovackComment: Love it! What strikes me first is the horses head. The way it is turned toward the butterfly makes it perfect. Children's book title doesn't hurt this image at ALL! All in all, a gorgeous capture :) I admire the fact that you let them go afterward too :) |

Rhododendron bugby BeetleComment: I just love these little flower spiders :) I gotta find out what they are!! Your focus here is really really nice! I like the way everything else is moot and the spiders little face jumps out at me :) Good contrast on the colour too.
ETA: It appears you have a species of jumping spider :)

spider.jpgby BeeCeeComment: Ohhhhh garden spiders are pretty :) Do you have this one in colour or did you shoot it in B&W?? Just curious :) You got a great angle on this one too... no trees blurring her out and the sun is in just the right place :) Nice work :) |

Kiss(es) of Deathby BradComment: Okay, I was loving the photo until I saw that you SQUISHED the spider!!!! :( BW's are actually really really good pest control and are not lethal, poisionous, but not lethal. The only documented case of a BW killing a human was a 2 year old that was bitten MANY times by MANY spiders. I let one live in my basement for over a year :) We had no bugs or other spiders during that time... she eventually moved out.
This is a great photo! I cannot believe you captured this :) Tiny question for you (feel free to PM me the answer): Where is the red spot off her back? did you PP it out or is she turned so you cannot see it?? I admire your bravery for this too LOL :) |

Mothby KivetComment: Wow at the detail! The size is lost in the capture but he sure is beautiful! You might try something to measure by like a hand near him? I don't know! LOL It appears you have found a Ceanothus Silk Moth
:) Here is a link for you: Ceanothus Silk Moth 8th pic down ;)
