Hmmmmm... This image is a little bit bright for my personal taste but the underlying story is not lost here. The composition is good too. I can't really see how this fits the challenge as I see no instruments but I suppose it is the music of war that you were portraying here. Anyway, it evoked a strong response and so I vote on that :)

Beautiful. The chin rest in front is a little bit of a distraction but I can overlook that when the image speaks in such huge volumes :) Nice capture of the grain in the instrument.

The shoes detract a bit and the instrument is not portrayed in the most flattering manner but I see where you were going with this. My first reaction was, "What in the heck?" but I didn't vote right away and revisited this 3 times because I was trying to understand. Now that I do, I must say, this is an interesting way of getting a point across :)

I get this look from my boys every time I tell them to practice their trombone :P Great focus on the eyes, nice brightness on the trombone. Image makes me feel sorry for the little guy :) That is a good thing :)

It is a little bit OOF but a great concept! Your lighting is pretty good too. A thought... if you had made the bright spot on the globe hit a specific country, it might make a bolder statement :)
