 Guess I got lucky with timing. My son is in the local High School Jazz Ensemble. They had a Jazz Cafe yesterday. Lighting was terrible, just the small and bright reading lamps; also creating these eery green reflections off the instruments (Basic Editing:-().

A great picture and nice angle. The symmetry in the stand and the saxophones themselves really sell this image. As one commenter mentioned, too bad about the microphones as they take a bit out of the picture (not much you can do though). Exposure is well done and good use of depth of field. Curious what the shot might have looked like if you pulled back just a hair. Still great score and a nice start here at your first entry. Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures.

Well, your shallow focus shows me only one of the players, not the line. The title and the mike are on the way to this becoming a very good photo.

This tells a story AND shows an angle with School in it. Hooray! Not many that have a School theme in this challenge. :( Nice job of handling the exposure with the extreme lighting conditions. Overall, well done. Good luck in the challenge.

Great perspective - love the colors and lighting from the stand lights. Using shallow focus on the 'lead player' is a nice touch.
