Beautiful. The chin rest in front is a little bit of a distraction but I can overlook that when the image speaks in such huge volumes :) Nice capture of the grain in the instrument.

a touch more contrast might have improved this a bit; it looks a bit grey, at least on this monitor. Still, a very nice shot, well chosen angle, and I have a soft spot for violins :-)

Bright area in the lower right really takes away from a nice image. I think it is the chin guard - Too bad you could not remove it before you got this image - the perspective and B/W conversion is pretty nice.
