Fencing in the dirtby XileboComment: I'm curious about the rock pile. Nice composition, and right exposure for the scene. The fence top being the dividing line between the stony foreground and the smoother background may cause some people to fuss. It doesn't bother me. |

The Day Life Beganby ShmeeComment: Good graphic with the light trails, and the light under the dirt. The light just seems to zap the life into the soil. The fogginess behind the plant is a plus too. The only flaw I see here is the bright spot under the leaf disturbs the contrast balance in the dirt at that point, where I feel it should be dark to enhance the border between the dirt and the stem. Still a "grabber" of an image concept. Big 8, almost made 9. To me, this pic would be a strong contender, even without a title. |

No Dirt, no Funby DudskiComment: The bike part of the pic is right on target, as well as the title. The background trips me up. I always tend to look at everything that I can see in any picture for some reason, so it could be just my way of absorbing the details that causes me to say that. |

"Dinner's ready."by JuliBocComment: Cute critter, sharp focus, good depth of field. I'm looking at the face and thinking maybe a funnier title would be " Hey! Who threw that dirt ball?" |

Buried Aliveby DrAchooComment: Wish I had this kind of dirt in my yard. I didn't think about it till too late, but this is almost like my idea, "Quicksand". The scene would be just a hat on wet ground, and maybe a hand out of the ground.
Good effort, and big depth of field, maybe a little too much, as the background in the corner attracts my eyes away from the foreground. I keep looking up there for something that isn't there. |
