It looks like it is soggy in the mornings where you live. I feel that the processing improved the original quite a bit. That is a very strudy looking corner post. The wood grain in the post takes some of the attention off of the dew drops that you wanted to show in this image, so both are good for different subject matter.

This is a cool shot with the sun behind. It makes for a great range of contrasts from one side to the other of the image. Bummer that the power line was there. Still a god image of the birds in flight.

Good move to shoot the image diagonal to the direction of flight, allowing you to include more birds. Good exposure level to keep the clouds and get detail in the birds as well.

Parrot

This looks like a scarlet macaw. They are truly beautiful birds. My pet Jules is a catalina, a cross between a scarlet and a blue and gold. They are gentle natured birds, and make intelligent and sweet but noisy pets.
Large aperture gives this image great shallow DOF, and really makes the bird stand out from the background. Their colors are excellent in pictures, but even more so when you see one live and up close.

Good thing ducks do not use human standards for sexual attraction, or there would not be any ducks, at least not of this variety.
Good sharp image, and it did meet the challenge criteria well.

Pea Hen

Excellent exposure, DOF, and focus. Unusual angle for being at a zoo. I like the little feathers on her head. Not too many people take pics this good of the hens, usually it is the bright males that get in the pics.
