That is a good challenge. The Micro Nikkor is the right lens for this shot, and you have found a subject that fits it's abilities very well. Excellent focus, and shallow DOF at this range make this a very pleasing image. I reach for my Micro Nikkor 55 manual focus when things seem to be getting dull, and the boredom is always gone in just a few minutes. It always impresses me that the lens can see things that I certainly can't with my eyes, like the little hook claws on the ends of the bee's legs.

This is just a beautiful place, and you have captured the essence of the countryside very nicely with this image. It makes me wonder about the lives of the people who lived in the houses.

The duotone is great. It is much stronger than the original color image to me. It reminds me of the Disney movie "Fantasia" .

It's a classic Great Lakes scene captured in this shot! Very well done, and love the ice and dramatic cloud formation over the scene. I am wondering how I missed seeing this shot, as I have visited your portfolio many times.
It seems odd that no one without a camera voted on this image.

This is a great idea, and it makes excellent color images too.
1 stop less exposure would make the colors more saturated and reduce the brightness of the light bulbs.

It looks like it was a fine day for ballooning. The image is excellent. I see a shadow of a 4th balloon, so it must have been at a festival or similar event.

I see that you have progressed beyond squirrells to watch in your yard : ) I would be happy that the feeder was not placed next to the window or door to your house. Here in the Everglades, we put turkey and deer feeders up high on 4 ft diameter smooth pipes, so that the bears can't climb up to them and tear them up.
Good pic! I wonder if they are about in the daytime a lot in your area? They are mostly night animals here.
