Nice POV! I use my picture stick (monopod) and hold the camera upside down on top of my boot or shoe, and shoot with the self timer to get this kind of thing. I am older now, and it is easier for me to shoot several that way than just one by getting down on the ground to carefully compose a shot. Down is easy , back up, not so easy LOL. The high iso adds a softness that I like to this scene.

That's a cool trick. I hope that the aluminum doesn't cause an electrochemical reaction with the cleaner and the faucet metal. My mother used to slice a couple of limes, and rub them around in the sink, and on the fixtures, then leave the juice for a while, in order to get the rust and scale off.

I would fill the cards every day if I were where you are shooting these, that is, if I could stand the cold. Eagles are relatively rare inland here in Florida, I have only seen 3 or 4 in the last 5 years or so, but they are more plentiful close to the coast where they can get fish easily.

Excellent action shot! You got the exact right timing to catch the peak of the activity. I would think that this is a territorial dispute. Focus and exposure are very good in this shot too.

I am glad that you got to get outside for a little break. I think you may have found a bird, if that is a gull sitting on the closest masthead.

I can see by the landscape work that this is a pricey neighborhood. I like the road, with no pavement, or lines, and it looks so smooth, not like the country roads here with holes and washboarding.

That's just too cool! Purple mountain's majesty for sure. I rode the tram to the top when I was there in 06, and wow can you see a lot of NM from there. It's a beautiful place all around.

When the sun is in the shot, even behind the clouds, it is so bright that it "burns out" a portion of the sky in photos. Sunrises and sunsets usually are best about 10 to 15 minutes before sunrise, or after sunset. To shoot in the lower light, you will have to keep your camera from shaking by using a tripod, or something solid to brace it against for the shots. If the sky appears washed out in the LCD, then reduce exposure (EV) and shoot again. A very simple subject seems to work best for silhouettes in sky shots too. The power lines are interesting, but people like a single subject to focus on in most photos.
Keep shooting and keep looking at the photos online here, and reading the comments on ones you like, and you will learn a lot about how to get what you want when you are shooting. You live in a beautiful place. Show us some of the nice scenery sometime. : )

As the others said, there is too much apple in this image. I understand that in order to capture the moment, you had to compose and shoot quickly. It's a tough bunch of voters here at DPC, so don't be discouraged by not placing higher in the scoring. I have a 4.5 and a DQ in my challenge shots. You are seeing the "moment" in your shots already, and with some time to learn, about composition and camera settings, I feel that you will soon be improving your scores a lot as you gain experience.
