As the others said, there is too much apple in this image. I understand that in order to capture the moment, you had to compose and shoot quickly. It's a tough bunch of voters here at DPC, so don't be discouraged by not placing higher in the scoring. I have a 4.5 and a DQ in my challenge shots. You are seeing the "moment" in your shots already, and with some time to learn, about composition and camera settings, I feel that you will soon be improving your scores a lot as you gain experience.

I wish the model not the computer were in focus.

Here's my two cents... :)

First of all, the image looks a little bit grainy. I've noticed sometimes that when I convert the image to black and white, that I'll get the same grain on my images. I have no idea what the original shot looked like of course, but perhaps the color one would have worked better. Secondly the composition is rather akward. Half of the photo is the black lap-top screen. If there had been any way to move that out of the way that might have helped increase the impact of the photo. Also, there appears to be something that almost looks like dust on the right side of the photo.

I hope this was helpful... I REALLY like the joyous expression you have captured on the woman's face - beautiful! :)

The image is a bit soft, and I find the laptop takes too much space in the image.

kinda blurry and the computer takes up a lot of the picture. otherwise a great expression. I think i would have cropped in on her face to simplify the picture.

Very little is sharp in this picture. Nice to see a fellow Mac user, though.

Great expression. It's too bad her face is slightly out of focus.

very noisy/grainy and not sharp at all. and there is something in the image..a hair? Are you shooting thru a dirty window? It's distracting.

Your model did an excellent job and you did a great job capturing the moment.
