olddoor.jpgby sulamkComment: When I saw this, my first thought was that it would be more interesting if the door was open part way. That would add an element of mystery and adventure that would connect with the viewers better.
I like the linear elements in the composition. |

P&S Day 2 - Purple Gallinuleby JuliBocComment: Wow, Julie! This is a very nice shot for a P&S shot in a flag pond. I am impressed with the POV, and the overall composition. The detail in the bird is good too. Nice shooting. You are fortunate to have time and a good location to go bird hunting nearby. |

PSApril21 King of the walkby tnunComment: The B&W seems to be best for this shot. It would be busy in color. I would see opportunities for closer head shots with this nice looking animal. |

picklesby icu1965Comment: Looking at the grass, sharpest focus seems to be just behind the subject. I feel that this is a result of shutter lag from the time the camera got focus on the dog until the shutter opened. Pretty cool looking dog, and he has an interesting name. Actually the timing worked out great to capture the shot with him completely in the air. |

Day 1: Nettle-eye Viewby bobonacusComment: Nice POV, to show off the plant in the foreground. In the thumb, I was expecting to open a jungle or tropical island scene.
I have found for shots like this, to point the camera lens at the closest item, which would be the leaves in the foreground, then half push the shutter until it focuses, then rotate the camera to shooting position without releasing the shutter button. That way, the focus will be locked on the nearest object, so the foreground will be in sharper focus. |

rose.jpgby sulamkComment: Nice rose shot. One of the things you can do easily to spice up flower close ups like this is to add a little spritz of water before shooting, so that the flower has droplets on it.
I have a rose bush with the same color roses in my front yard. |

Day 1by tpbremerComment: This has a nice "graphics" quality to it. Everyone else has already spotted the rest that I would be able to add. Good start for the P&S thread. |

P&S Day 1 - Roseby JuliBocComment: This is a very pretty composition, with wonderful detail, and color combinations in the flowers. I don't see any way to improve it. |

The Brahmas #1 P&Sby robinssongComment: I instantly knew that this was in Florida. The oak with spanish moss, and the dog fennels give the location away. The light is excellent on the cows, and the mirror image pose is sweet too. Good overall shaprness too. Nice shot. |
