IMG_2226swan.jpgby JerseyGenieComment: The dash of saturation makes a nice improvement in this shot. Try shooting cloudy day white balance some time for this sort of shots, and the images will be almost like this straight from the camera. I use that white balance a lot for out door scenes and for most of my sunsets.
Can you try to get the water to look like it does in your Bahama vacation shots? |

Day 01by Dirt_DiverComment: I like the way you posted both shots in one frame for us. Your edit made an artsy looking poster from the original shot. The expression makes the shot for me.
I understand about the thin milk thing and I know who has the answer to the question about how to make the milk into a mustache. That would be alanfreed, have a look at his profile shot. |

Hiking Trail Editedby TCGuruComment: Nice edit. I would have never known that this was shot mid summer if I had not seen the original. I like the way the light plays around in little spots, and the way the far end of the trail appears brighter in this edit. |

Snoozin' - Afterby timfythetooComment: You did the right thing with the switch to B&W with this one. It adds a feel that the scene could have been 50 years ago, or yesterday. I think that is what makes it connect for me. |

Vienna at the parkby onesaintComment: I agree that the white blanket is empty space on the right. You have done a very sweet job of bringing her little face to the front of the image. Maybe the iso actually helped with blurring the absolute sharpness that could have made any little imperfection show up in her complexion. It's a good image now.
Wishing you the best in the effort to make the cover. |

3-june 08. before & after. dropletsby rozComment: I'm smiling for you Roz. I was happy to see you in this little challenge because I admire your "omlet " style of editing images into each other. You made a visual treat.
I can't do that ..........yet. |

1-june 08. before&after. paper waspby rozComment: Hi Roz!
It looks like you have been on the fire trail with your macro lens again. I don't think it would have done so well in the free study either, mostly because even though it is very clear and sharp, a little more DOF to get that left antenae and right front leg in focus would have made it a little better. Emotions seem to get involved with the voting if you post something that makes most people a little uncomfortable to see due to conditioning, and that results in lower scores sometimes too. I feel that you made a good decision.
You did a nice job with your magic bag of processing tricky stuff to get it from the original to the finished shot. The tiny details like the toothy edge of the mandible make it interesting to see. Thanks for putting the processing details in with the image.
Life gets exciting for a while when you stir up a big nest of these little critters. |

paralax addressed.jpgby wehrmacherComment: This was a good job of widening the image to improve composition. I would not have thought about doing that, except possibly with a very important image.
I like flower shots, and this is a very good one with the way the light presents the colors in the orchids. |

The Ringsby IvoryComment: Another lovely shot from you. I like the even roundness of the circles, and the way you made them stand out from the level surface of the water. The leaves under the surface are a perk too. |

Bovines Country Domainby IvoryComment: Just amazing and so "Ivory." The shooting and processing with this shot are great.
I never knew that cattle would grow hair like that in the winter. They certainly don't do that here where it rarely gets below 40 F at night. |
