The Bunny Treeby MaryOComment: This scene is very to the point. It looks like a still from "101 Dalmations" in a way. I understand you frustration with trying to get them all adopted out. We have about 8 or 10 animals here now, not counting the dozen neighborhood free range chickens which hang around to eat left over and dropped parrot feed. |

'58 Delray -- Original Equipmentby GermaineComment: That's a great looking old Chevy. My buddy "Hot Shot' Mims and I made a beach buggy out of one of these in about 1967. It had the 348 cubic inch motor, with 3 "duces" (carburators) and would do great wheelies. We shortened the frame about 3 ft, and built our own minimal body with one open seat on it. It was a ton of fun, and I wish that I had some photos to show. We should probably be dead, but somehow it didn't happen. We got a ticket with it for doing wheelies on Los Olas in Ft Lauderdale at spring break that year. The "Beach Boys" were playing on the beach for free when we were there.
Thanks for the great memory jog!

He was a friend that I could not reachby CorySmithComment: Wow, You got trashed on this one. I found long ago that in DPC voter land, you have to hit a lot of voters between the eyes with the expected subject in order for them to connect the dots. Nice shot, and IMHO it fits the challenge nicely. It's pleasing to see something here besides gory or fun stuff like cookie stealing. This looks like an actual crime scene. |

IMG_1863.jpgby JibComment: There is a good opportunity to crop the top of this shot, which will improve composition by removing a lot of area that does not contain necessary content. That would also put her face more on the "third" line. It's a good moment, and captured nicely. A light application of "shadows" or dodge to lighten up the dress would also give it a little more punch. |

wildthingdeer.jpgby icu1965Comment: It's amazing to see how wild creatures cope with a flood like this one. I have seen deer in the Fl Everglades get along all right when the water was this high, but it is really tough on the little ones. I am happy to see that you are able to keep shooting, and to get on line to show us photos of what you are seeing. |

dragonfly on buttercupby tnunComment: It's really nice that you got the body and wings in the same plane for this shot, which makes it very sharp and nicely focused over the bug's whole body and wings.
The colors in this are marvelous, as is the light. The little glow of fuzz around the body is the finishing touch. Message edited by author 2010-03-13 01:53:40. |

Freneticby spiritualspatulaComment: It looks like a small war going on. I saw some of this type ants in NM a couple of years ago, and they were in a spooky old graveyard above Madrid, an old mining town. The anthill was huge.

Ladyby tnunComment: The arch in the BG over the horse, and the horse moving toward it away from the viewer makes this image come across like a 1950's movie ending. It seems as if the story is over, and the horse is leaving now. Roll the credits.
It's a fascinating image in composition and in execution overall. It looks almost 3d too because of the lighter subject, and the tonal range in the BG. |
