Bottoms Up!by bergiekatComment: Balloons are magnets for cameras : ) I like that you left the top of the burner in this shot, however, I think that I wold have rotated the camera to put it in one corner instead of centered.
Here's the same sort of scene from above.

1/(Focal Length) = 1/(d1) + 1/(d2) by zackdezonComment: This is a well planned and excellent shot, and right on target for the challenge. I didn't vote this challenge, but I stopped and admired this image for a minute when I looked through the entries.
Congrats on the ribbon |

Arcadesby h2Comment: That's pretty neat with the curve in alignment. It makes a nice perspective study with the curve adding a lot to the concept of space and distance in the shot. |

Bringing back the old timesby mbrutus2009Comment: It's hard to tell about the file size in this shot, but it looks like it may have been shot with the camera set to lower resolution than it would be normally, i/e set at 1meg instead of 6 or 8 meg. In particular, the edges of the court line, and the lettering on the racket look a little pixilated to me.
With this Mac, I can see all the tones in the darker areas, but some computer screens would not show the low key areas, which would affect the voting. I found my monitor set at the std Mac gamma, which is brighter than almost all PC's screens. It made my photos dark looking for everyone else until I set my monitor to 1.8 gamma.
The composition includes lines, curves, and squares which is nice, and depth of field is good. The placement in the composition, centered, just does not seem quite exciting enough to do well in a challenge.
Don't be discouraged, just keep shooting and look at a lot of the images that are doing well, and you will soon have some good scores.
Happy first comment! : ) |

Horie Templeby heavyjComment: Impressive shot and beautiful place. The POV and processing makes it look like a shot of a model instead of a real place. Too bad that the building in the rear distracts from the magical beauty of the place. |

It's a Girl! by Art RoflmaoComment: Wood you look at that! Ken got a ribbon!
Way to go Ken! Excellent concept, and thoughtful job of putting all the elements in the shot. |

Phyllis's Dock at Twilight.jpgby tnunComment: I like the modified S curve in the wood, and being able to see the bottom of the shore line through the water in this. You did a nice job of creating a faux sunset glow with color. |

saltlake.jpgby cynthiannComment: It looks quite like the land of "OZ". At least that is the first thing that came to mind when I saw this. Nicely done. It must have been hazy for you to go with the B&W and high contrast. |
